Hello readers! If you read my November TBR you know that this month was an intense schoolwork month for me. I am happy to report that all that is over now and I am back for a very busy reading month in December. But first, I want to try something new. I’m posting this as a wrap-up for all that I read, saw, and listened to throughout the month. Plus, I’m also including a few fun events and milestones!
This month I read a total of 3 books. A little on the small side, but considering this was a crazy month, it’s not bad at all. Two of them were for final papers but I managed to sneak in one V.E. Schwab novel just for fun. Vengeful was the last book I had for my V.E. Schwab marathon. I’ll post my full review of both Villains novels and City of Ghosts in the next few days!
I recently discovered @alxrnbrdmusic on YouTube and found out that they have a Spotify as well! These playlists are all I have been listening to and all I think I will listen to for the rest of the year. All the playlists are a mix of seasonal indie/folk/pop/alt music. If that sounds like your cup of tea definitely check them out!
I have been obsessed with Wynonna Earp. If you want something like an old western meets fantasy with a strong female lead and queer representation, I definitely recommend it. Wynonna gives the best one-liners. The writing is extremely clever and genuinely hilarious while still being spooky and creepy. Truly all of my favorite things.
The second TV show I have been obsessed with is Lost Girl. I’m two seasons in and loving this adult fantasy series. I’ve also been watching these episodes with my best friend and it makes the show all the more special.
The third show I’m mentioning here is the newest addition. I am only two episodes into The Great British Baking Show but it’s becoming an addiction. I didn’t realize how much I missed reality television, and the delicious food is just a plus. I highly recommend this show if you’re looking for some lighthearted, stress-relieving TV.
On November 15th the northeast was hit with 6 inches of snow out of nowhere. Here are some pictures of the intense, but beautiful, storm that completely ruined my shoes.
Do Something Memorable
For Thanksgiving, I brought my best friend to my hometown. We had lots of food, pie, and coffee. Having her around made the holiday one of the best yet!
This is my favorite out of all the pictures I took this month. Huge shoutout to Fordham University for its incredibly scenic paths, and to mother nature for bringing us yet another incredible fall season.
Try Something New!
I went to my first Pure Barre Class in NYC and loved it! It was challenging but the instructors were super nice and encouraging. I’m personally not someone who is super motivated to work out in a gym by myself, but fitness classes in NYC can definitely put a hole in your pocket. It was a stroke of luck that I came across this studio two blocks away from my home. They have some great deals if it’s your first time and the staff is super friendly. I’m slowly but surely taking steps towards having a better relationship with my body.
Goals for next month
In December I need to finish all my finals and then read like crazy. I have so many books on my TBR that I have been dying to get to and I might even participate in a few readathons! I have lots of exciting posts and reviews planned for the next two months. I am also spending time with family back in Texas which always warms my heart. But most of all I want to continue the healthy habits I built this month and keep working out and eating healthy.
